HomeQuest provides the ability for users to create up to three websites with their account. In some cases agents already own the domains they wish to use – and in other cases we purchase the domain on the users behalf.
If you have added sites through your account with HomeQuest and you wish to retain the domain after your account with us has ended you must take action. We do not provide site content hosting to non HomeQuest users. See below
If you already own the domain(s) you use there is no immediate action to take. You will need to work with your new site provider to make changes where the domain is registered in order to get your new site to work.
To retain a domain purchased through HomeQuest.
Option 1 – If you do not have a domain registration account.
1. Create an account at enomcentral.com
2. Send us the account name (not your password)
3. We will push the domain to the account you created. You will be responsible for the renewal fees related to the domain.
Option 2. Create a domain registration account or use one you already have.
1. Create a domain registration account at your preferred registrar (some examples – enomcentral.com, godaddy.com, networksolutions.com)
2. Contact us via email to let us know which domain(s) you wish to transfer.
3. We will unlock the domain(s) and send you an authorization key you will need to complete the process
4. Follow the domain transfer instructions provided by your registrar.
The domain will be left to expire in most cases if you do nothing with the domain after your account has ended.
If you have content in a WordPress site with us you can use the data export functions available within WordPress. If you have extensive photo content please contact us. We can send this content to you.
